Congratulations to Sean Byrne and Tony Cottone who secured a defense verdict on March 10, 2025, in Fairfax Circuit Court. The plaintiff had filed a wrongful death lawsuit seeking $5 million in damages, alleging failure to diagnose and treat a deep vein thrombosis in a patient who died one week later from a pulmonary embolism. After five days of testimony, including expert witnesses from orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery, and critical care testifying for the defense, the jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning a verdict in favor of the defendants.
