Claira received her undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University, majoring in Political Science and American Studies with a concentration in Constitutional Studies.

Claira received her Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond in May of 2026. Claira had the privilege of gaining experience through numerous internships, including working for the United States Senate, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and a Judicial Externship with the Honorable, Chief Justice Cleo Powell of the Virginia Supreme Court. Additionally, Claira gained court experience using her third year practice certificate with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, working in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Claira found a passion for pro bono service working as a student attorney for University of Richmond’s Access to Justice Clinic, representing low-income Virginians on matters of no-fault divorce, guardianship and fighting evictions.

In Claira’s free time, she enjoys baking sourdough, cake decorating and road trips to OBX to spend time with her two favorite people—her niece and nephew. Claira is also very proud of her Elite Status on Yelp and is always looking for a new restaurant recommendation.
