Attorney
Jeremy A. Theisen concentrates his practice on defending healthcare providers in complex litigation, including civil malpractice claims, government investigations, and white collar criminal cases. Jeremy has a passion for litigation, and he works hard to develop cases from their initial stages all the way through trial. He brings a high level of conviction, thoroughness, and pragmatism to every client and case.
Prior to joining Byrne Canaan Law, Jeremy was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Roanoke, where he gained substantial courtroom experience. Jeremy successfully prosecuted a wide variety of crimes from indictment through conviction, including complex white collar cases and violent felonies. He also headed his office’s appellate division, where he oversaw the submission of dozens of briefs to the Court of Appeals of Virginia, as well as the Supreme Court of Virginia. Through these experiences, Jeremy has developed the ability to view cases and legal issues in a holistic and detail-oriented manner.
Jeremy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia before obtaining his Juris Doctorate from William & Mary. While in law school, Jeremy was a member of The Bill of Rights Journal, as well as a volunteer at Student Legal Services and the William & Mary Family Law Clinic.
